Wissahickon Yoga Series

Connect with nature and practice in the serene outdoor setting of Wissahickon Valley Park with FOW for a monthly outdoor yoga series.
On the 3rd Sunday of each month we will meet for a one hour yoga practice of varied styles, postures, and breathing exercises. This month, we’ll be at Blue Bell Hill with teacher Anne Williams. Anne has been practicing yoga for 8 years, teaching for 4.5 of them and comes from a background of playing collegiate sports and generally having an active lifestyle. She has practiced and taught different styles of yoga from hatha, various forms of vinyasa flow, to restorative. She has worked with beginners, groups of athletes, and intermediate to advanced yogis.
Anne draws from the feeling of both ease & power in slow movements with an awareness of caution & concern for safety – after herself recovering a few times from past injuries. She teaches a style of yoga that focuses on strength and function in the body while turning up the internal heat! Her classes include elements of functional body mechanics, lots of core, range of motion, and focus on alignment. Expect fun and creative sequencing sprinkled throughout while keeping it accessible to all levels!
Please bring a mat and dress for the season. These classes are open to all levels. Pre-registration is required to attend, registration will close the night prior to each class. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. Bring water and a snack if desired. Outdoor classes are cancelled in heavy rain, strong winds, thunder/lightning and dangerous driving.
