Policy Issues

In the role of protector of the Wissahickon, one of the city’s largest (1,800 acres) and most heavily-used (2,000 users per week) parks, the Friends of the Wissahickon must often support or initiate policies as well as carry out projects.

FOW’s Advocacy Committee is responsible for identifying and researching policy issues such as appropriate use of the Wissahickon and making recommendations on policy to the full Board of Directors. Policies adopted by the Board are subject to modification and approval by the Fairmount Park Commission.
